As a hopeless Gone With the Wind fan, I have always loved the beautiful antebellum plantation homes that were a big part of our history.
An era that was romantic and gallant. A time where ladies were ladies and the men were true gentlemen.
While the gentlemen were taking care of the business, the ladies were taking care of the household and having tea with the ladies.
After trips to Europe and England, the southerners took their cue from the British to have afternoon tea. Not quite as formal as the true high tea, the mid-morning or afternoon tea would usually consist of hot teas, biscuits and jams, and shortbread or molasses cookies. A truly social affair presented and attended by the most fashionable and mannerly of the southern belles!

Whether you enjoy a delicious pot of hot tea or you prefer a tasty fruit tea, you will enjoy delightful servings of tea sandwiches, sweet pastries, scones, fresh fruit, or muffins. Our luncheon tea is served daily and is perfect for the lighter appetite.
Special Event teas are by reservation only. We offer “special” tea events during many of the holidays and at the change of seasons. Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s’ Day( The O’Hara’s were Irish, you know), Spring Tea, Easter Tea, Mother’s Day, Summer Tea, Autumn Tea, Halloween Tea, Things to be Thankful for Tea, and a special Christmas Tea! These tea times are more traditional to a true afternoon high tea.
